Sanders lost a competition for the Cleveland starting QB job to veteran Deshaun Watson this past summer.
Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Shedeur Sanders has become the center of trade rumors following a season-ending knee injury to New York Giants starter Jaxson Dart. However, Browns insider Tony Grossi expressed skepticism regarding a potential trade, citing Sanders falling to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft and a general lack of league-wide interest outside Cleveland.
While Giants head coach John Harbaugh reportedly showed interest in drafting Sanders while with Baltimore, Sanders' camp previously declined to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup. New York is currently slated to start backup Jameis Winston, while Sanders remains in Cleveland behind starter Deshaun Watson following the Browns' 23-19 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
