The Cleveland Cavaliers face a vacancy in their backcourt rotation following offseason trades involving Max Strus and Dennis Schroder. Entering his sophomore campaign, 22-year-old guard Tyrese Proctor is competing for the primary backup point guard role alongside Craig Porter Jr. and rookie Meleek Thomas.
Proctor was selected 49th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft and averaged 5.4 points across 50 games during his rookie season. Cleveland hopes his 6-foot-4 size, perimeter shooting, and defensive potential will allow him to effectively complement starting guards James Harden and Donovan Mitchell.
