Since their Stanley Cup Final lost in 2018-19 the Boston Bruins have been stuck in a good-but-not-great stretch of play that has seen them make the playoffs in all but one season, but fail to advance past the second round…

The Boston Bruins enter the 2026-27 NHL season aiming to improve after finishing third in the Atlantic Division with a 45-27-10 record and 100 points in 2025-26. The Bruins were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Buffalo Sabres. Forward David Pastrnak returns as a veteran leader following his fourth consecutive 100-point campaign.
Boston made several roster adjustments during the off-season, acquiring JJ Peterka and Will Borgen through trades, alongside adding free agent defenseman Connor Clifton and forward Ivan Ivan. Meanwhile, 19-year-old forward James Hagens, the seventh overall pick in 2025, is projected to compete for middle-six playing time.
