Capitals Notebook: Alex Ovechkin Injury Update, Team Works On PK & Preps For Dress Rehearsal

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin returned as a full participant in team practice on Thursday at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. He practiced on the top line alongside Dylan Strome and Ryan Leonard. Head coach Spencer Carbery stated that Ovechkin might play in a preseason game either Friday against the Boston Bruins or Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers, but will not play in both.

Carbery emphasized that the team is not concerned if Ovechkin misses exhibition games before the regular season begins. The Capitals also focused on their penalty kill unit ahead of Friday's preseason dress rehearsal, where goaltender Logan Thompson is slated to play the full game.
