Northern California college wrestling star dies in fall at Yosemite National Park

Santa Rosa Junior College wrestler Ryan George died after slipping and falling while hiking at Yosemite National Park on Sunday. The 19-year-old sophomore was reportedly hiking with friends near Illilouette Falls when the fatal fall occurred, according to a statement from college coach Fred Duerr.

George, a native of Santa Rosa who attended Montgomery High School, placed third in the 197-pound division at the state championship last season. His postseason run included five victories and a bronze medal win over teammate Joe Ellis.
