The Washington Capitals completed several major roster moves during the 2026 offseason to retool for a championship push following a missed postseason in 2025-26. On June 24, Washington acquired forward Jordan Kyrou from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Connor McMichael, Milton Gastrin, and a 2026 first-round draft pick.
The following day, the Capitals acquired forward Alex Tuch, center David Kampf, and a 2027 third-round draft pick from Buffalo, with Tuch signing an eight-year, $84 million contract. Washington also added free agent Boone Jenner on a four-year, $23 million deal.
