Former Everton player Tim Cahill stated that the collapse of Folarin Balogun's transfer was a blessing in disguise for the club. Balogun was scheduled to complete a permanent transfer from Monaco to Everton for £38.5 million and underwent a medical at Finch Farm before walking away from the deal.
Following the collapsed transfer and Beto's departure to Fiorentina, manager David Moyes has utilized Thierno Barry as Everton's primary senior center forward. Cahill praised Barry's work rate and dedication in training and during Everton's match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
