John Hollinger believes oddsmakers are underselling two Central Division teams, though for very different reasons. In his annual preseason exercise for The Athletic, Hollinger picked the Cavaliers and Bucks among five teams he expects to exceed their projected win totals.
John Hollinger of The Athletic has predicted that both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks will exceed their projected regular-season win totals. Cleveland's win total is set at 47.5, coming off a 52-30 season and having not won fewer than 48 games since 2021-22. Hollinger pointed to the addition of James Harden and Peyton Watson as key elements to support Cleveland's roster.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are projected at 26.5 wins following the trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Hollinger believes Milwaukee's new depth—including Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, Nate Ament, and Caris LeVert under new head coach Taylor Jenkins—can push the team to around 30 wins.
