Mets Drop Series Finale to Kumar Rocker, Rangers

Kumar Rocker led the Texas Rangers to a 3-1 victory over the New York Mets on Thursday, helping Texas avoid a series sweep. Carson Benge initially drove in Francisco Lindor with an RBI single in the first inning to give the Mets an early lead, but Josh Jung responded with a two-run home run off Zac Thornton to put Texas ahead for good.

Rocker pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four. Thornton surrendered two runs over five innings to conclude his rookie campaign, before Corey Seager added a solo home run off reliever Jefry Yan to secure the win and give the Rangers a half-game lead in the AL West.
