The Pittsburgh Steelers did not need another film session to tell them last Sunday was sloppy. Three points, four sacks and a collection of breakdowns that seemed to take turns ruining possessions supplied enough evidence.
The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to practice with a heightened focus following a 20-3 Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots. In that defeat, Pittsburgh converted only two of 12 third downs, yielded four sacks, and managed just three points. Wide receiver DK Metcalf reported that the team's preparation has improved noticeably ahead of their upcoming AFC North matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to Metcalf, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been quizzing teammates on passing concepts in individual meetings to counter unscouted defensive looks. Head coach Mike McCarthy praised Wednesday's practice as the team's best of the young season, emphasizing communication and mental discipline after Rodgers noted that mistakes against New England were spread across multiple offensive players.
