Giants Reunite With All-Star Reliever After Trading Him Last Year

The San Francisco Giants have claimed relief pitcher Camilo Doval off waivers after he was designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Doval previously spent four and a half seasons with the Giants, where he earned an All-Star selection and led the National League in saves in 2023, before being traded to the New York Yankees in 2025.

Doval was later traded from the Yankees to the Pirates at the trade deadline. He posted a 4.54 ERA in 44 games with the Yankees and a 3.79 ERA across 20 appearances with Pittsburgh, and he remains under club control for one more year.
