DeBrincat Nets OT Winner as Red Wings Edge Sabres

Alex DeBrincat scored a power-play one-timer 33 seconds into overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena. The exhibition contest was Detroit's first home game of the NHL preseason and featured eight shots on goal from DeBrincat.

Axel Sandin-Pellikka and Sheldon Dries also scored for Detroit, while Trevor Kuntar and Jiri Kulich tallied goals for Buffalo. Former Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon started for the Sabres but left late in the first period due to an apparent shoulder injury, replaced by Colton Ellis.
