Chiefs rookie RB Emmett Johnson could have bigger workload vs. lowly Dolphins

The Kansas City Chiefs are planning to give rookie running back Emmett Johnson an expanded role in their Week 3 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Kansas City enters the contest with a 2-0 record as a double-digit road favorite against the winless 0-2 Dolphins. Team coaches aim to manage the workload of starter Kenneth Walker III while integrating Johnson further into the offense.

Walker currently leads the NFL with 47 carries and 290 rushing yards through two games. Johnson, a fifth-round draft pick out of Nebraska, has recorded 10 carries for 39 yards alongside four receptions for 64 yards this season. Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and running backs coach DeMarco Murray confirmed intentions to give the rookie additional opportunities.
