UFC signs 11-0 finisher who went 34-1 as an amateur

The UFC has signed undefeated Azerbaijani bantamweight prospect Asaf Chopurov, who holds an 11-0 professional record alongside a 34-1 amateur resume. The 24-year-old is expected to make his promotional debut against fellow prospect Colby Thicknesse at UFC 333 on October 24 in Abu Dhabi.

Chopurov has earned finishes in 10 of his 11 professional bouts and previously captured and twice defended the UAE Warriors bantamweight championship. He trains alongside UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan, who headlines the UFC 333 card in a trilogy title defense against Merab Dvalishvili.
