Jon Scheyer Addresses Mavericks’ Interest, Says He’s ‘In For Long Haul’ With Duke

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer addressed interest from the Dallas Mavericks during a news conference, stating that he is in for the long haul with the Blue Devils. Dallas interviewed Scheyer for its head-coaching vacancy before ultimately hiring Dusty May from Michigan. Scheyer affirmed his commitment to Duke, noting he is right where he is supposed to be.

Dallas's interest was partly linked to Scheyer's relationship with Mavericks star Cooper Flagg, whom he coached at Duke during the 2024-25 season. Across his first four seasons as Duke's head coach, Scheyer compiled a 124-25 record. He remains under contract with Duke through the 2030-31 season following an extension signed in October.
