Craig Richards was left disappointed by his now-former promoter Matchroom Boxing after they secured a world title final eliminator for fellow light-heavyweight Ben Whittaker.

Craig Richards has explained his decision to leave Matchroom Boxing and sign with rival promotion Zuffa Boxing. The London fighter, who had been with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom since his 2015 debut, stated the company could not deliver promised opportunities for a world championship or a final eliminator after his stoppage wins over Padraig McCrory and Dan Azeez in 2025.
Richards claimed he had agreed to an IBF light-heavyweight final eliminator against Conor Wallace, but Matchroom instead awarded that bout to recent signing Ben Whittaker. Now moving forward amicably, Richards is scheduled to make his Zuffa Boxing debut against Radivoje Kalajdzic this Saturday in London.
