Evansville Central High School coach Amanda Schmitt has been named the Colts Flag Football Coach of the Week for Week 5, the Indianapolis Colts announced. After starting the season 0-4, the Bears won four consecutive games, improving to 4-4 with a 53-32 victory over rival Evansville Harrison.
This marks the third year the Colts are honoring Indiana high school girls flag coaches based on team performance and community impact. Winning coaches receive a commemorative plaque and a $1,000 donation from the NFL Foundation at the end of the season.
