Ethan Salas, MLB’s youngest player, has arrived in time for playoff-bound Padres

The San Diego Padres defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 on Thursday night at Dodger Stadium to clinch their third consecutive postseason berth. The victory featured 20-year-old catcher Ethan Salas, the youngest player in Major League Baseball, who broke up Tyler Glasnow's no-hitter with a single, scored the game's first run, and added an RBI single.

Salas was promoted to the majors on September 1 after Padres president of baseball operations A.J. Preller received approval from owners Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano. Manager Craig Stammen started Salas in consecutive games behind the plate, setting up the young catcher to become the youngest player ever to catch in an MLB postseason game.
