Anthony Davis optimism should show Wizards the direction they need to go in

Washington Wizards executive Will Dawkins addressed the media regarding Anthony Davis as the forward prepares for his first full season with the franchise. Davis did not appear in any games following his acquisition before the February trade deadline due to a finger injury, but Dawkins stated that Davis is focused and ready for the upcoming season.

Washington decided not to pursue contract extension talks during the summer after Davis became extension-eligible on August 6, opting instead to defer discussions to during the season. Although the team previously indicated it did not want to trade the 32-year-old, his future remains an ongoing question as the season approaches.
