The Hibs sporting director has been put under the spotlight in recent weeks.

Former Hibernian player Aiden McGeady has backed sporting director Malky Mackay following fan criticism at Easter Road. The scrutiny intensified after manager David Gray was dismissed and replaced by former Beveren boss Marink Reedijk, with supporters protesting Mackay's recruitment during a pre-international break draw against Aberdeen.
McGeady defended Mackay's strategy of recruiting from English leagues, citing the signing and subsequent club-record sale of Kieron Bowie from Fulham as proof of value. Having witnessed heavy transfer turnover under former manager Lee Johnson, McGeady noted that directors of football typically outlast multiple managerial appointments.
