The New York Islanders have placed former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Pierre Engvall on waivers ahead of the NHL roster deadline. Engvall is currently in the middle of a seven-year, $21 million contract originally awarded to him by former Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello.
This marks the third time the Islanders have placed Engvall on waivers since signing his contract extension in July 2023. Selected by Toronto in the 2014 NHL Draft, Engvall has accumulated 65 goals and 70 assists across 385 career NHL games.
