Barcelos was ahead on all scorecards before being knocked unconscious during a fifth-round takedown attempt by Rosas Jr. and was transported to the hospital for precautionary medical evaluation.

Trainer Davi Ramos released a video reassuring fans that Barcelos was doing fine while undergoing a tomography scan. Journalist Ariel Helwani also reported that Barcelos had completed his CT scan, was able to speak, and could move his body, easing concerns following his exit from the Octagon.
