The Gerrard meeting that sold me on Rangers despite scepticism of move to Scotland

Connor Goldson has revealed that a face-to-face meeting with former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard convinced him to sign for the Scottish club in 2018. Despite initial skepticism about leaving the English Premier League, Goldson agreed to a free transfer from Brighton after Gerrard personally traveled to meet him.

Speaking on Open Goal, Goldson explained that Gerrard offered to drive directly to Brighton upon learning that Goldson's wife was heavily pregnant. Gerrard promised to build the back line around him, which quickly convinced both Goldson and his wife to commit to the move.
