Premier League hero lived in 1,000-year-old castle but there was one major problem

Former Tottenham and Leicester City goalkeeper Kasey Keller lived in a 1,000-year-old castle with his family after joining German club Borussia Monchengladbach in early 2005. The American relocated into Haus Donk, a protected medieval water castle near Monchengladbach, after struggling to find standard housing near his children's international school outside Dusseldorf.

Keller noted the main inconvenience of the historic property was its daily travel logistics. The setup required a 20-minute drive in one direction to take his children to school, followed by a 30-minute commute the opposite way to reach the team's training facilities.
