Celtic defender Auston Trusty played the full 90 minutes for the United States in a friendly against Peru, earning his 11th senior international cap. Trusty started at center-back alongside George Campbell under manager Mauricio Pochettino, as the USA secured a victory featuring goals from Justin Ellis, Malik Tillman, Julian Hall, and Sebastian Berhalter, while Gianluca Lapadula scored for Peru.
Trusty's start comes as fellow Celtic center-back Cameron Carter-Vickers was left out of the current national team squad without an official explanation. Trusty remains Celtic's sole representative in the squad as the USMNT prepares for upcoming matches against Chile, Mexico, and Canada.
