The bout ended abruptly when Barcelos collapsed limp following a clinch exchange along the fence, prompting referee Herb Dean to immediately wave off the contest as medical personnel rushed in.
Barcelos was stretchered out of the Octagon and transported to a Level 1 trauma center for a CT scan. The UFC later confirmed that Barcelos was stable, conscious, alert, and responsive, with coach Davi Ramos reporting normal movement in his arms and legs.
