Liverpool announce star player has returned after picking up injury

Liverpool have announced that striker Alexander Isak has returned to the club after sustaining a minor toe injury while on international duty with Sweden. The forward picked up the knock during Sweden's 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory against Romania on September 25, despite completing the full match and scoring. He will now be evaluated by the club's medical staff at the AXA Training Centre.

Isak will miss Sweden's remaining three fixtures of the international break as he aims to recover before Liverpool's fixture against Manchester City on October 11. The 27-year-old has registered four goals and one assist in seven appearances this season, making his quick recovery critical with teammate Hugo Ekitike already facing a long-term injury layoff.
