Cameron Carter-Vickers has attracted even more criticism for his honest comments on Celtic's failures.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has publicly criticized defender Cameron Carter-Vickers following Celtic's second consecutive Old Firm derby defeat. Sutton joined other pundits in reacting to Carter-Vickers' post-match comments, in which the defender stated the team had been playing random football and suggested players were unsure of their roles on the pitch.
Writing in the Daily Record, Sutton labeled the defender's public remarks as disgraceful, pathetic, and a cop-out that effectively passed blame onto manager Martin O'Neill and the coaching staff. While Carter-Vickers maintained that players supported O'Neill, Sutton argued that such grievances should have been addressed internally rather than aired publicly.
