Club legend Chris Waddle has dismissed the idea that the Tottenham players have downed tools amid a tough start to the new season.
Tottenham Hotspur sits at the bottom of the Premier League table after failing to win any of their first five matches of the 2026/27 season under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Despite spending nearly £400 million on summer additions, including Sandro Tonali for £100 million, Spurs have earned only two points from a possible 15.
Former Tottenham player Chris Waddle noted that the squad is missing a creative presence in the final third to break down opposing defenses. Waddle defended the squad's work rate, stating the current struggles stem from integrating numerous new signings rather than a lack of effort.
