Last season’s ugly end could mean Suns running it back was a mistake

The Phoenix Suns' decision to retain most of their core roster has raised concerns following a difficult conclusion to their previous campaign. After recording a 14-17 finish post-February 5, the Suns were swept out of the playoffs. The franchise parted ways with rotation players Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale while franchise star Devin Booker approaches 30 years of age.

Phoenix retained Dillon Brooks, Jordan Goodwin, and Collin Gillespie, and added forward Miles Bridges to the roster. Additionally, center Mark Williams received a contract extension despite missing postseason action, and he is projected to miss significant playing time due to a shoulder injury.
