Heat Move On From Promising Guard Before Dennis Smith Jr. Signing

The Miami Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, traded the returning-player rights of guard Jahmir Young to the Coachella Valley Lakers. In exchange, Sioux Falls acquired the player rights to center Kylor Kelley along with a 2027 G League first-round pick originally owned by the Rip City Remix.

Following the trade, veteran point guard Dennis Smith Jr. agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Miami Heat. Smith is considered likely to return to the Skyforce, where he previously played 21 regular-season games last season, making him eligible for a bonus of up to $91,000 if waived and retained.
