San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy outgained Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett in passing yards despite completing 23 fewer passes during a Week 3 matchup. Purdy completed 15 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 11.0 yards per attempt. In contrast, Brissett completed 38 passes for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and an average of 5.4 yards per attempt as the Cardinals fell short against San Francisco.
Arizona's offense failed to score until Brissett threw a touchdown pass to Michael Wilson late in the third quarter to spark a comeback. Meanwhile, the Cardinals' defense failed to record a single sack on Purdy, who threw two touchdowns to George Kittle, one to Mike Evans, and initiated a touchdown play featuring a lateral from Evans to Deebo Samuel.
