One of my great joys in retirement from school teaching is the ability to play extended periods of autumn golf in Northern Michigan.

The Original Golf Blogger documented a late September round of golf played at Indian River Golf Club in Northern Michigan. The outing took place on September 27 under cool, crisp autumn conditions, with the author highlighting the course's design and notably praising holes eleven through fifteen as among the state's best stretches.
During the round, the writer encountered an unusual obstacle on the fourth hole, where falling acorns from a large oak tree covered the putting green. Additionally, the author noted family members pulled their boat out of the water later that day to conclude the season.
