Blues shake up blue line: claim Barron, waive Rosen, recall Jiricek

St. Louis Blues General Manager Alex Steen announced multiple roster moves on Sunday ahead of the 2026-27 season. The Blues claimed defenseman Justin Barron off waivers from the Nashville Predators and recalled defenseman Adam Jiricek from their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. Additionally, defenseman Calle Rosen and goaltender Georgi Romanov were placed on waivers with the intention of assigning them to Springfield.

The transactions follow a 3-2 preseason loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, during which Blues defenseman Logan Mailloux exited with an upper-body injury. Barron, a former 2020 first-round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche, joins St. Louis to bolster their defensive options following previous stints with Colorado, Montreal, and Nashville.
