Connelly Early is back in his place of peace on a big league mound

Washington Nationals pitcher Connelly Early returned to a major league mound for the first time in three months, pitching three scoreless innings against the New York Mets. Operating on a pitch count, the 24-year-old left-hander yielded only one hit and recorded one strikeout against A.J. Ewing.

Following the outing, Early noted his pitch shapes were solid despite feeling his overall command could improve. Blake Butera praised the rookie's maturity and suggested that building additional muscle could help enhance Early's velocity heading into next season.
