Sedriques Dumas believes a short-notice opponent change didn’t play out in his favor in his latest outing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Sedriques Dumas stated that a late opponent switch negatively impacted his performance following a 57-second defeat at UFC Vegas 121 on September 26. Dumas was originally slated to face Mickey Gall in a middleweight bout, but Gall withdrew less than three days before the event due to an undisclosed medical issue. Replacement fighter Luis Hernandez stepped in, moved the contest to light heavyweight, and submitted Dumas with a standing guillotine choke.
The victory earned Hernandez a $100,000 performance bonus in his Octagon debut, while Dumas extended his winless streak to five fights. Addressing the outcome on social media, Dumas explained that shifting focus after months of preparation for Gall worked against him, though he emphasized he remains unbothered by outside criticism and will concentrate on self-improvement.
