Canucks Place Nikita Tolopilo On Waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have placed 26-year-old goaltender Nikita Tolopilo on waivers. If he successfully clears waivers, the Canucks plan to assign him to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks. The move follows Vancouver's recent waiver claim of goaltender Leevi Meriläinen earlier in the week.

Tolopilo struggled during two pre-season appearances, recording a 3.62 goals-against average and an .864 save percentage. If he clears waivers, he is expected to serve as Abbotsford's starting goaltender, where he holds a career 48-35-6 record across 90 AHL games.
