A wonderful season for Alonso in a challenging season for Orioles

Pete Alonso completed a standout individual campaign for the Baltimore Orioles despite the team missing the postseason. Alonso led the American League with 43 home runs and 113 RBIs, becoming the first player to lead both leagues in RBIs during a career. He played in all 161 games for Baltimore, extending his consecutive games streak to 577 while being named the unanimous Most Valuable Oriole.

Despite Alonso's individual success, Baltimore was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday following a Chicago White Sox victory over Kansas City. Alonso posted a career-best .363 on-base percentage, drew 81 walks, and produced a 4.9 WAR. Teammate Gunnar Henderson appeared in 158 games, but Baltimore failed to secure an American League wild-card berth.
