WPL | Harris and Lee released; 63 players retained ahead of auction

A total of 63 cricketers, including 23 overseas players, have been retained by the five Women's Premier League franchises ahead of the upcoming auction. The deadline for confirming retentions for the tournament's fifth season ended on Monday. The next WPL auction is scheduled to take place in Kochi on October 28.

Gujarat Giants retained the most players with 15, while UP Warriorz retained the fewest at 11, leaving them with a tournament-high purse of ₹3.65 crore. Notable departures include Grace Harris, who was released by defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Lizelle Lee, released by Delhi Capitals.
