The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Meleek Thomas with the 34th overall pick after trading out of the first round in the draft. Thomas subsequently led all players in the Las Vegas Summer League by averaging 27.3 points per game across four contests, earning Summer League First Team honors.
Following offseason departures of bench contributors Max Strus and Dennis Schröder, Cleveland faces decisions regarding player rotation. If newly added reserve options struggle to perform, Thomas could be required to play substantial regular-season minutes alongside backcourt leaders Donovan Mitchell and James Harden.
