The 39-year-old center enters the season with 1,761 career points across 1,420 games, positioning him to potentially become the fifth player in NHL history to reach the 1,800-point mark.
Crosby currently ranks seventh in all-time scoring behind Marcel Dionne and Ron Francis. Additionally, Crosby needs three assists to surpass Joe Thornton for seventh on the all-time assists list, and 49 points to pass Gordie Howe for the most points scored with a single franchise.
