Extension Notes: Zion, Bey, AD, MPJ, Wallace

Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations Joe Dumars announced that New Orleans has not yet engaged in contract extension talks with forward Zion Williamson. Speaking at media day on Monday, Dumars indicated that the team wants to see how the upcoming season plays out before discussing a new deal.

Williamson reported to training camp listed at 277 pounds, down seven pounds from last season. Dumars praised Williamson's offseason conditioning, noting that the former No. 1 overall pick has two years remaining on his current maximum-salary contract and will be extension-eligible again in 2027.
