St. Louis Blues defenseman Adam Jiricek was recalled to the NHL roster shortly after being assigned to Springfield of the American Hockey League. The 20-year-old 2024 first-round pick was initially sent down following a 1-0 preseason victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Following injuries on the Blues' blue line, Jiricek was abruptly summoned back to St. Louis and could potentially make his NHL debut in Friday's regular-season opener.

Jiricek had just arrived in Springfield to set up living arrangements with Juraj Pekarcik and Jakub Stancl before receiving the call to return. The recall came after defenseman Logan Mailloux suffered a hand injury during a fight on Saturday, sidelining him for at least eight weeks, while Tyler Tucker is also sidelined with a knee injury.
