The Atlanta Braves held a workout day ahead of their Wild Card Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. During the session, pitchers Bryce Elder and Joe JimƩnez threw live batting practice sessions as they continue their recovery efforts. Bench coach Walt Weiss, along with players Chris Sale and Matt Olson, spoke positively about the team's mindset and atmosphere leading into the postseason matchup.
Elder stated that while he feels encouragingly good three weeks out, returning by the NLDS remains uncertain as he progresses through a checklist with training staff. Both Elder and JimƩnez are considered longshots to appear before a potential NLCS. Weiss also emphasized the significant advantage of hosting the entire three-game Wild Card Series at home.
