Real Madrid suffered a 2-1 defeat against Atlético de Madrid over the weekend in a difficult derby match. During the game, Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde sustained a blow to his left ankle from Kang-In Lee, who was not booked for the incident.
According to Cope, Valverde's ankle remains heavily swollen, which is delaying the additional medical examinations needed to assess the full injury. Medical staff must wait for the inflammation to decrease, though the Iberian press reports that Valverde could face several weeks on the sidelines.
