West Ham’s Josh Landers: ‘I scored four goals. Mark Noble told me: ‘Well, that’s your job”

West Ham United forward Josh Landers scored four goals for the under-21 team in a 5-4 defeat to Cobham Next Gen on August 31. Four days after matching the scoring feat achieved by former West Ham striker Michail Antonio, the 19-year-old joined Scottish Championship side Ayr United on a season-long loan.

Following the four-goal display, West Ham sporting director Mark Noble reminded Landers that scoring was simply his job, while youth coaches analyzed video clips to target areas for improvement. Landers, who signed with West Ham from Hibernian in January 2025, has since scored once in four appearances for Ayr United.
