Carlton Cole Backs Freddie Potts for Club Brugge and West Ham Return

Former West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has backed Freddie Potts following the midfielder's permanent transfer to Belgian champions Club Brugge. Cole, who worked closely with Potts during his time as West Ham's loans manager, endorsed the player's decision to move abroad rather than take another domestic loan. Potts left the London Stadium during the summer window after West Ham decided against another temporary spell.

Cole stated that manager Nuno Espírito Santo likely wanted Potts to secure regular senior minutes that West Ham could not guarantee. The transfer was completed as a clean permanent sale with no formal return agreement. Since completing the switch to Club Brugge, Potts has already made his Champions League debut in a match against Aston Villa.
