Floyd Schofield is scheduled to return to the ring on October 10 against Lucas Bahdi with the vacant WBA lightweight title on the line. The bout will conclude an inactive stretch of more than fifteen months away from competition, dating back to his first-round stoppage victory over veteran Tevin Farmer in just 78 seconds.
The extended layoff followed a canceled title fight against Shakur Stevenson in February 2025, when Schofield was hospitalized in Saudi Arabia and ruled unfit to compete. While his father claimed poisoning caused the medical emergency, critics questioned the circumstances after no concrete proof was presented.
