The Calgary Flames are entering the final year in the history of the Saddledome, and now they've named the team that will take the ice on opening night.
The Calgary Flames have officially finalized their opening night roster ahead of the 2026/27 NHL regular season opener at home against the Seattle Kraken. Head coach Ryan Huska and general manager Craig Conroy opted for a veteran-heavy squad to begin the campaign, keeping depth defensemen Joel Hanley and Brayden Pachal on the team.
With forward Jonathan Huberdeau placed on injured reserve, the Flames selected 13 forwards and eight defensemen, retaining Brennan Othmann on the roster. Meanwhile, young forward Aydar Suniev was assigned to the American Hockey League.
