Meet the Everton goalkeeper following in David Raya’s footsteps at Southport

Everton academy goalkeeper Douglass Lukjanciks has joined National League North side Southport FC on a loan deal set to run until at least January. The 18-year-old shot-stopper, who previously featured for Everton's Under-21 side, secured the temporary move to gain his first experience of senior football in the sixth tier of English football.

Lukjanciks stepped into the starting lineup following a difficult spell for on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Solomon Honor. The Southport-born player made his debut in a derby fixture against Morecambe shortly after manager Neil Danns resigned from the non-league club.
